"To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given... Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.'" Matthew 13:11,15 &16
The first time I remember seeing the Lord with my eyes, was at the age of three. I was looking out the screen door to my backyard and, oh my goodness, a fully grown male LION was standing on MY lawn looking at me with his fierce but gentle eyes. He walked the fence-line from right to left as if marking his territory and then stopped and gazed into my eyes. I called to my Mommy to come and see this wild sight and when she came, the Lord opened her eyes to see him appearing to me in the form of a Lion. WOW... So what does this all mean? great question. honestly, i am still processing it and receiving understanding.
BUT, i can tell you this with all my integrity and gusto, seeing the LORD that day with my natural eyes put an insatiable desire in me to discover HOW to BE with Jesus in every way that HE has made available to me. I'm not after a "goose-bump" experience, rather I am crazy in LOVE with the person, JESUS. That's why my heart's cry is the same as king David's in Psalm27:8 "My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me."And my heart responds, "LORD, I am coming."
